Description

A good set of 6 country "wavy line" ladderback chairs from the early 19th century. Made in the North West, Lancashire and Cheshire, it was a particularly successful design, and made in large numbers. The chairs, made of ash wood, feature back uprights that end in domed nipple finials, with 5 hand shaped and curved ladders. Sturdy legs end in pad feet. These chairs were not made by a single person or workshop, so there are small variations between them.
The rushed seats are all in excellent condition, and come with a set of well made cushions (if required) Circa 1820
