We have for sale the perfect gift for the person who wants to add some 18th century style to their Christmas dinner table, a very ornate Georgian silver cream jug by Charles Chesterman c1780.

This very decorative George III baluster shaped cream jug is decorated in repoussé with 18th century flower baskets to each side and has a vacant cartouche to the front. The jug carries full English hallmarks for London 1780 just beneath the spout along with the makers marks for Charles Chesterman.

The jug is approximately 7 inches (17.8cm) high, 4 inches (10.2cm) wide from spout to handle and is approximately 3 ounces (93.1g) in weight. The jug is in a good antique condition with no significant impressions and no repairs, however, the hallmarks although easy to read are a little rubbed.
