Description

For sale we have a lovely Newlyn School Arts and Crafts copper chamberstick.

This striking arts and crafts chamber stick has a square body extending to a typical flat handle with a rounded end. The body of the chamberstick is decorated with repose fish and extends to a candle holder and detachable scone. The body of the chamberstick caries the impressed Newlyn mark. The chamberstick probably dates to somewhere around 1900.

The chamber stick is 8 inches (20.3cm) long, 4.25 inches (10.8cm) wide and 2 inches (5cm) high including the sconce. It is in a very good to excellent condition, but there is a small indentation to the handle and there is some slight accumulation of polish in the decoration one would expect in a piece of copper-ware from this period.
