We have for a sale a good example of a Regency period Swansea Paris fluted Swansea cup and saucer c1817.

Illustrated in WD John, "Swansea Porcelain", Plate 28, this duck egg porcelain cup and saucer is decorated with a gilt band around the rim, a gilt handle and a central gilt floral design.The base of the saucer carries the Swansea mark in red.

The saucer is 15cm (6 inches) in diameter and both the cup and saucer are in a very good condition with no chips, cracks or repairs, however there is some wear to the gilding.

This cup and saucer is currently being exhibited as part of the selling exhibition of rare Derby, Pinxton, Nantgarw and Swansea porcelain "A journey with William Billingsley" 2016, ISBN: 9783741809903
