We have for sale a rare William Billingsley decorated Derby spill vase dating to about 1790.

The spill vase is decorated with a central band, and beautiful Billingsley pink roses within reserves of lozenges and star gilding on a pink ground. The base carries the puce Duesbury mark along with the gilders mark 8 for William Longden.

The spill vase is 4 & 1/2 inches (11.4cm) high and is in good condition with no chips, cracks or repairs but there is some wear to the gilt. The pattern is illustrated in “William Billingsley” by WD John plate 38a.
