This highly detailed, inked egg depicts a continuous whaling scene above decorative scrollwork, raised on a patinated metal leaf tip base. The historic whaling scene show ships, whales, maps, mythological figures and a mountainous background.This fabulous carved ostrich egg is in very good condition with no cracks or damage. A truly rare piece, which makes this a great find for any serious antique collector.
