Beautiful, large vintage sterling silver (925) butterfly brooch with Plique-a-Jour Enamel multi-coloured wings, Ruby eyes and an Emerald body. Marcasite gems on the abdomen. This brooch is a real show piece.Plique-à-jour (French for 'letting in daylight') is a delicate technique of applying enamel to open compartments, so light can shine through.
The brooch is in excellent conditon with no missing stones.
