Description
Antique French painting from the first half of the 18th century. Artwork oil on mahogany panel of excellent quality, depicting the figures of Christ and the Madonna. A striking and beautifully sized artwork, this horizontally arranged painting is ideal for antique dealers and collectors of ancient sacred art.Jesus' gaze follows the viewer while the Madonna, at his side, observes her son. The panel has some scratches and a small chip in the lower left corner (see photo). The painting has undergone a very well-executed conservative restoration, with color restoration in several areas. Overall, the painting is in good condition.
