Description

This antique French dressmaker's mannequin dates from the turn of the 19th to 20th century.

The body is wrapped in linen that has developed a patina over time the fabric remains intact aside from the anticipated stains and halos associated with age and careful handling, which harmoniously integrate with the overall aged appearance.

While originally accompanied by a stand, this element is no longer present.

The mannequin reflects the fashionable silhouette of its era, characterised by a slightly compressed bust, a narrow waist sometimes even narrower (wasp waisted), and a subtly accentuated posterior.

This piece presents an attractive decorative option suitable for shop displays as well as in a chic boudoir interior.
