A Lovely Original Georgian Bracket Clock By William Gammon of Birmingham with strike/silent lever on the backplate
William Gammon c1795 had premises in both London and Birmingham and this clock clearly demonstrates the relationship between the two cities having typical London style, I am unsure where the workshop was.
having a fine boxwood inlay of a geometric pattern to the front, the original painted dial still retains the name Gammon and Birmingham. With fine fish scale fretwork panels to the side the clock is finished with a glazed door to the rear to reveal the engraved backplate of the double fusee bracket clock.
