Description

Fantastic quality Serpentine desk weight /ashtray with bronze chicks.

It in a lovely piece made from carved serpentine.

The bronze chicks are siting on the rough serpentine which looks like ice.
Whereas the rest of it is all finely polished to look like the black sea below.

It is in lovely condition with expected wear and tear, with one or two minute nibbles around the edges.

Overall in great condition for its age, which is roughly late Victorian/ early Edwardian.

It is signed Guiraud-Rivière on the back on the bronze.

I Presume this to be the French designer MAURICE GUIRAUD-RIVIERE.

A stunning bronze which would make any piece it sits on look good, and a great addition to any collection.

It could be used as a decorative item or as a desk tidy/ paper weight/ ash tray.
