Description

Salvatore Mundi: Saviour of the World, Christ sits upon a exquisite and flamboyant acanthus scrolled capitol. His left hand cradling a gilded orb whilst his right hand is raised in the sign of Peace. Oak carved throughout the sculpture retains much of its original gessoed and gilded surface and remarkably both hands and the delicate foliage carving are original and undamaged. I believe this piece is German and late 17th c. 40cm tall
