Description

This is a late 18th Century George III Mahognay side table. A lovely country piece with great patina and age. It is raised on straight legs with canted chamfered inner sections. It has a single drawer with brass handles and solid top with loads of character. A great piece that could tell us loads if it could.

When this piece was made General Cornwallis had not surrended at Yorktown (1781), the battle of the Nile hadn't been considered (1798) and the Napoleonic Wars were not yet thought about, we were the greatest Empire on the planet from a little island in the Northern hemisphere. What could this piece tell us about the world and ourselves.
