Description

 This is a rare set of 6 E. Gomme Superior Quality solid Oak dining chairs c1939 model number 216.  These are easily found in the High Wycombe furniture archive online.  Just put in your search " E Gomme Chair 216".  They are so heavy and so well made and rare early examples.  The have large baluster turned front legs with gadrooned carving to them.  They have a classic H stretcher with three central back rest supports and a pie crust carved top rail.  This design was first introduced in 1929 with these being 1939 just prior to the outbreak of World War II.
