Description

This is a Solid Oak Hand made Arts & Crafts mirror back sideboard c1880-1900. This piece is so stunning but is huge and so heavy its stupid but the quality is exceptional. It is raised upon a plinth base with deep quadrant mouldings to the plinth. It has a pair of flanking cupboards with central cupboards. The middle has a pair of drawers with single side drawers. In between are four matching pilasters. All of the carving on this piece is hand carved with love. The door fronts all have matching floral carving. The upper mirror back sideboard has a pair of gorgeously carved Corinthian columns with the foliage on the upper columns being so pronounced, this is much attention you do not get from a factory made piece. This is the first sale it has ever had so outside of the family who made it you will be the second owner. The lower section has hand made copper panels under the shelves. All of the mirrors have deep bevelling with a profusion of carving all over this piece and a lovely mellow colour to match. There is a loop missing to the right hand door which I will endeavour to find a suitable match for.
