This is an absolutely stunning late 19th century writing desk/secretaire. French, C 1890.

There are 4 beautifully inlaid and smoothly running serpentine drawers, all fitted with drawer stops, and in the center, the fall drops down to reveal a writing surface and various drawers and stationary slots.

This secretaire has a fitted buff marble top in good condition. The sides are crossbanded and the entire secretaire is veneered in rosewood and kingwood and inlaid with exotic floral marquetry timbers. There are 2 working keys.
