This is an absolutely delightful desk /semanier of exceptional quality. French c 1890. The fall drops to reveal 5 smoothly running stationary drawers and a maroon writing surface in the original leather. There are 3 working keys and
the remaining drawers are lined and also run well. The entire semanier is veneered with kingwood,tulip wood and satinwood, the drawers being constructed from solid oak and superbly decorated on the fronts. A movable marble sits atop the semanier. Seen here in top showroom condition, this item has obviously been well maintained over the years. We have simply wax and polishes to show the beautiful patina.
