A wonderful bird cage automaton with two exotic feathered birds. Dates to the early Nineteenth century.
The automaton can be wound up on a key in the base and sings with he most lovely sound. Fantastic party piece ,it is as entertaining now as the day it was made. The red bird moves his head and opens his beak and shakes his tail feathers and takes it in turn to sing with the yellow bird that opens his beak and shakes tail feathers also.
Brass wire cage upon a decorated chased brass plinth base.
This is a very decorative piece and in working condition in original condition.
