Description

A smart and very well made antique Victorian mahogany writing table / desk by James Shoolbred. This was made in England, it dates from around the 1860-1880 period.

James Shoolbred was a very high end manufacturer, and this is of superb quality. It is a very useful size, and is nicely finished on the back, so can be used as a free standing item. It sits on nicely turned legs with brass casters, and has a hand coloured inset leather top.

We have had this recently re-polished, the condition is very good for its age. There are various small marks and indentations here and there remaining beneath the polish, commensurate for age.

Width – 52 inches , 132 cm
Depth – 23 inches , 58 cm
Height – 30 inches , 76 cm
Knee height – 23.5 inches , 60 cm
