Description

A wonderful original antique Victorian leather and mahogany metamorphic gout stool. This was made in England, it dates from around the 1880’s period.

It has a clever ratchet design, enabling it to raise up and be positioned at various angles. This was designed to be a an adjustable foot rest to aid those with gout, it can also be raised up to the height of a chair and could be used as a desk chair or side chair.

The condition is excellent, we have had the leather revived and hand coloured by our leather restorer. The mahogany legs have been re-polished, the brass casters are all in good order.
