Description

A gorgeous and extremely well made antique Swedish mahogany barley twist leg desk / writing table. This was made in Sweden, it dates from around the 1880-1900 period.

It is of outstanding quality with a wonderful design. The top has beautiful serpentine shaped edges and an inset tooled leather writing surface. There are cross banded edges and two locking drawers with very fine, hand cut dovetailed joints. The most striking feature of the desk is the fantastic barley twist legs which stand on brass casters. The back of this is also nicely polished, so it can be used as a free standing item.
