Description

This wonderfully crafted elbow chair was made by Edward Barnsley's workshop, c.1960, and has 'BARNSLEY' stamped to the underside of the curved seat rail. It has a strong and elegant design of subtle curves and the wood is most probably black bean, an attractively-figured Australian timber that was used by the workshop in the mid-twentieth century. The seat and the back are upholstered in a blue fabric.

We also have a matching side chair.

94.5cm high and 57cm wide.

The chair is in very good condition having been refinished and reupholstered. There are a few old and unobtrusive dents to one of the front legs.
