Description

This Art Nouveau music cabinet has a door and front brackets made of rosewood and superbly inlaid with floral motifs. The rest of the item, which is comprised of a series of shelves, is made of mahogany and has yin-yang roundels inlaid to the top and bottom. The door, which has its original key, opens to reveal removable shelves for sheet music.

It measures 79cm wide, 139.5cm high and 34cm deep.

It is in very good condition. The two front corners of the cornice have been knocked off at some stage but the original pieces of wood have been professionally replaced and the damage is only visible under the closest scrutiny. Internally, the shelves are original and intact.
