Description

This rare Chairmaker's Chair, with a pierced and carved maple leaf in the back splat, was made by Ercol in 1991 for Maples Ltd (formerly Maple & Co.) to commemorate the 150th anniversary of that venerable furniture firm. It has a hooped back, cowhorn arms, dished seat, turned legs and a crinoline stretcher.

It measures 107cm high and 63cm wide.

It is in good and solid condition except for some damage to the stretcher, one arm and a back leg where the family pet appears to have enjoyed nibbling.
