Description

Designed by Ambrose Heal in 1920, this sideboard is made of well-figured mahogany with ebonised edging and turned handles. It comprises four cupboard doors, all with harlequin inlay, below three drawers and it stands on an ebonised base. The stepped top gives it an Art Deco appearance.

It has an inset Heal's label, though the writing has rubbed off, and it appears in the Studio Yearbook for 1921.

It measures 48cm deep, 139cm wide and 92cm high.

In overall very good condition having been refinished where necessary. There is some very minor separation of the veneers to the top and the sides and there is an old dent to one of the central doors (see final photograph).
