Description

Made of solid walnut, these six Arts & Crafts dining chairs have curved top rails above well-figured and tapering back splats. The drop-in seats are covered in hide and the chamfered front legs flare out at the bottom. They date to c.1930.

They display elements of both the Cotswold School and the Brynmawr furniture makers and may have been made by someone affiliated with either one or both of these.

They measure 91cm high, 49cm wide and 43.5cm deep. The seats are 45cm off the floor.

They are in overall very good condition and have been reupholstered in their original hide, which is in good condition with attractive wear. One of them has a small amount of filler applied to a natural knot in the wood of an upright.
