Description
Very Early English Carved Silver Gilt Mirror c 1660-70.Remarkably the frame still retains a good percentage of its original silver gilding.
Frame holds a piece of thin mercury mirror plate (c1800 or earlier) which has heavy overall foxing.
Originally the frame would have held a portrait from the period, mirror plate was fitted many, many years ago.
Sizes 27 1/4" x 23".
