This is a stunning Still Life Oil on Canvas of Fruit by the very sought after Hungarian artist JOZSEF MOLNAR, presented in the original period wooden gilt frame with canvas inner slip.SIGNATURE: [ Painted lower bottom margin in orange / brown paint ‘ Maui An ‘ ]
A pseudonym or alias is a fictitious name that a person or group assumes for a particular purpose, which differs from their original or true name. This also differs from a new name that entirely or legally replaces an individual''''s own.
Artists often used multiple pseudonym’s when producing and replicating multiple works of the same subject and would not want to have their works undervalued due to mass numbers of paintings in circulation.
The painting depicts a display of grapes, vine leaves and a peach in a gilded tazza, alongside a similar candlestick and a matching goblet.
These items are sitting on a carved table partially draped with a blue cloth.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Jozsef Molnar was born in Hungary in 1929.
The artist studied at the Jozsef Attila School as well as receiving private lessons.
He became the pupil of the artist Karoli Szegvary and Peter Kloton.
His work is in the manner of the Dutch Baroque painters.
The artists work mainly comes to the market on the Continent.
The artist is often confused with an earlier Jozsef Molner.

Returns are accepted within 14 days of receipt if the item is found to have been misdescribed and the purchaser may be liable for the return costs subject to reasons for return.
Returns authorisation should be requested by sending an e-mail before posting.
Once we receive the item in good order as supplied not withstanding notified transit damage, we will return payment using the same payment method.
