Description

Holdcroft Majolica square box and cover which features storks, squirrels, blossom and parrot feet. Colouration: cobalt blue, green, turquoise, are predominant. The piece bears maker's marks for the Holdcroft pottery. Cover: Good. No restoration. Some small flakes to panels, rim and flange. KILN EFFECTS: thin glaze application to patches on the top slight cloudiness to the glaze on the underside.. Base: Generally good. Flaking/wear around the rim in places. KILN EFFECTS: thin glaze application in places kiln soot caught in the glaze on one squirrel. RESTORATION. Filled chips to all four beaks. One foot reglued and join retouched. Retouched flakes to bird's feet.
