Description

An Excellent Run of 4 Antique / Vintage Opalescent Glass Pendant Lights

Priced at just £130 each, representing excellent value. Each is supplied complete with a monk's cap cowling / hanger, a generous length of chain and all are fully wired, ready to use.

Genuine antique opalescent (or 'milk glass') lamps - c.1940's.

Note - the metal hardware is later, but still 'vintage' and nicely weathered in.

The mainstay of churches, chapels and other public spaces in the first half of 20th century Britain, these stunning, old milk glass pendants are now rightly making their way into the homes of design and heritage-savy buyers across the land.

Incredibly versatile lights, lending themselves equally well to antique, modern and post-modern interiors alike.

Beautiful - Neutral - Timeless!

Two of these pendants measure approx 30 cms tall and boast a circumference of some 97 cms.

The other two are slightly smaller, coming in at 27cms tall with a circumference of approx 88 cms.

The glass is clearly hand made with signs of the manufacturing process within the body and an altogether different beast to the cold, sterile, modern 'knock-offs' that are now flooding the market to take up the slack.

GREAT VALUE: all of my opalescent pendants come fully wired, earthed, with a vintage e27 bulb holder and with a metal monk's cap fitting, as shown...together with approx 50 cms of chain and top ring. The metalwork is later than the actual glass, but it all has an aged look with surface marking and blemishes, all of which provide an ideal match.

Condition - All are in very good order for age. A few very minor nibbles away around the upper hole (but covered by the metal monk's cap fitting, these are not visible and mentioned here only for strict accuracy). As with all four of these lamps I'm offering, the metal hanger is vintage and displays some slight surface marking and surface deterioration - all of which is welcome and accentuates the antique quality of the white glass itself.
