Scottish Morrison & Crawford Pottery Bread Bin

Description
A Fine Scottish Antique Pottery Bread Crock or Bin.Attributed to Morrison and Crawford (Rosslyn Pottery, Kirkcaldy).
Circa late 19th century - early 20th century.
The nicest example of its kind that I've ever come across, with exceptional glazing.
A completely authentic, honest and genuine object.
The square-section body crafted from stoneware, each side relief moulded with leaf designs. The lid with similar interlaced branch-work and with naturalistically modelled lug handles to the sides and cover.
The earth colours on this particular example are sumptuous....freckled and mottled with greens, browns and blues, all over a bright sandy coloured ground. All allowed to bleed and flow, echoing the earlier wares of Thomas Whieldon.
The crock isn't perfect, but its flaws and faults are all honest and representative of decades of careful use and wear.
A completely authentic and charming piece of antique kitchenalia.
Dimensions -
23.5 cms deep x 26.5 cms high (inc lid) x 27.5 cms wide.
Condition -
Each side has a hairline, running from the upper edge down into the crock (as photographed). One of these hairlines runs down through one of the lug handles, but the handle is solid enough. There are some old chips to one corner (again, as photographed). Age-related crazing throughout, most noticeable to the light interior.
The lid again with age-related crazing. The upper handle, good and strong.
Well-used, honest and unmolested and without any restoration or repair work.
