Description

A Very Nice Arts & Crafts Period Octagonal Limed Oak Book Table

Dating to around the 1930's and attributed to Heals.

A highly attractive and functional period table, the sides inset with three shallow shelves, and one deeper recess to stow away your books and magazines. The lower shelf open on all sides.

High quality yet wonderfully understated, all as you'd expect from a piece from Heals and / or the Arts and Crafts period.

The top is slightly lighter in colour which suggests that it has been cleaned down in the distant past, but reveals the lovely 'quarter sawn' grain in the English oak.

All in all a charming little table that is brilliantly practical and would look great in a contemporary or period property alike.

Dimensions-

Approx 60 cms diameter x 57 cms high.

Condition-

In good structural condition and it presents well. Some cosmetic blemishes. The top is lighter which suggests it has been cleaned down with minor surface mark. There are some surface marks to the lower shelf as well as a few minor old (inactive) worm holes (we have 20+ images on file, so feel free to request extra images ahead of purchase and we will be happy to provide them). Underneath, the table had been fitted with castors by the previous elderly owner to aid in easy movement. These have since been removed returning the table back to original spec, however the screw holes for the said castors are there.

All in all, it remains a highly attractive and function piece of period Arts and Crafts furniture.
