Description

A good quality set of eight oak dining chairs from Edinburgh, Scotland. Made by John Taylors in the late 1800s this set are in overall good condition. There has been a little knocking on the backs as they have been up against a table, as you can see in the pictures it is not serious. The backs have been reupholstered and the seats may well want re upholstery too, but they are still most usable with no holes, just wear. Joints are sound. The carving on the nice tall backs is deep and crisp and certainly of good quality, the legs are turned with a reeding detail. There are in fact 9 chairs, we will give the new owner the other one foc. A great set of chairs which must be the cheapest set of 8 in world for a cabinet made set of this age, Victorian, in sound condition, only £460.00 for 9 chairs. They all carry the cabinet makers impressed stamp.
