A very rare find indeed, this set of 12 arm chairs in the arts and crafts design are most unlikely to be repeated any time soon. We can honestly say that in the last 40 years we have never had a similar set. The odd chair or maybe a pair can be found of course but this number is so unusual. The chairs are generally in good condition, seats are all tidy and useable, some have been rerushed in the non too distant past. There are a couple of joints that we will rejoint before the chairs leave our premises. These chairs are in an unrestored condition, we are getting asked for some items that are a bit more rustic, these chairs fit that bill so unless asked we will sell them as they are at what we believe to be a stunningly keen price, £1500. That is only £125 per chair, about half what many people are asking for a single chair, just check out antiques atlas web site.
There should be a serious premium on a set of 12 so these chairs a exceedingly competitive. We will clean and French polish them if asked to do so, that will about double the price, still not bad mind you.
The chairs have a good shape arm and spindles between the legs for strength, note the twin stretcher, nicely turned, between the front legs. ..................
The Arts and Crafts movement started in England in the late 1800s and continued into the early 1900s. There are a number of well known names from the period, Liberty of London and William Morris to name just two.

We have been in business for 40 years and are now coming up to retirement.
