Description

A nice clean walnut kneehole desk that is a really good size {not too big but a sensible working space} from the reign of Queen Victoria. Although it does have some minor wear this walnut box top desk is very much in a useable condition. We have given it a clean, wax and buff and it is now very presentable. The full set of original handles are all in fine fettle and the back is polished so it can go in the middle of a room if required rather than having to go against a wall. There are a number of chairs that would be suitable to go with this desk, not least the one currently sitting with it.
This kneehole was presented in 1887 and there is a little plaque in the top, it can be seen in the pictures. If you did not want this with the original information, which is almost worn away it would be rather special to have this re engraved, with the date bought for example. What would also be rather unusual if it was bought as a Christmas present for someone special and the plaque could be engraved with your own private wishes. All in all a nice tidy desk, ready for use at a sensible price.
