Description

An oak coffer from 18thC possibly even 17thC. This three panel coffer has a lovely mellowed patina from polishing over the years. The legs have been reduced, possibly from being sat on a solid floor and have a few hundred years of mopping and thus rather considerable wear and tear on the bottoms.
This coffer has lozenge carvings on the panels and rather attractive scroll detailing on the sides of the face. In generally good condition all be it with the common shrinkage on the timbers in the top panels, this a useful item with good storage space without being a dominant piece of furniture. A very keen price taking into account legs, which will of course not be a problem to some people who may be looking for a lower example.
