Description

A beautiful example of late 17th-century craftsmanship, this William and Mary period walnut chest features two short drawers over three long graduated drawers, offering excellent storage.

The drawers are of solid oak, dovetailed construction, fitted with brass drop handles and star backplates, with two working locks and keys for the top drawers.

The top is quarter veneered with striking geometric inlaid detail, framed by cross-grain moulding around the edge.

The drawer fronts display finely executed geometric inlays, showcasing the quality and precision typical of the period.

Standing on turned bun feet, this chest boasts a warm, rich patina and superb proportions.
