Antique Girandole Gilt Gesso Mirror, c.1800

Description
This is an antique girnadole mirror dating to the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries, c.1800.A super example, this wall mirror is framed in giltwood and gesso, the moulding around the later mirror plate displaying a garland of foliate detail sweeping back to the beaded edge against the wall.
The upper appliqué of swirling foliate branches flank a central rosette beneath scalloped shell crest.
To the bottom of the mirror plate a cherub gazes upwards entwined within the triple stemmed girandole.
A stunning mirror with four mounting lugs, delivered ready to be hung in the home.
