English Victorian Wall Mirror - Avian Crown - c1860

A delightful English Victorian ornate wall mirror of oval form c1860.

The gilt gesso frame is presented in antique condition and the mirror benefits from original plate with desirable light foxing.
With triple moulded detailing to the main frame, charming foliate work, and surmounted by an avian crown theme.

Overall a pleasing example with classic proportions wonderfully detailed and unusual with the fluttering bird feature.

In a desirable mostly unrestored condition the upper ornate work is complete with just some old light repairs consistent with age. The lower ornate work has a robust extension tail with missing side scroll elements, but this certainly does not detract.
