Outstanding quality antique Victorian burr walnut marble top credenza having the original serpentine shaped white marble top with a thumb moulded edge resting on a serpentine shaped moulded frieze , one large burr walnut carved circular mirror to the centre opening to reveal a fitted shelf. It boasts impressive quality carved walnut scrolls flanked by two mirrors with wonderful carved burr walnut surrounds, standing on a burr walnut serpentine shaped plinth.This beautiful example has so many fine features, the craftsmanship is exquisite and the design incredible. Although it does not display a makers mark it was most certainly made by a very high quality cabinet maker and would likely have been a commissioned piece. The colour and patination are enthralling.
