Description

A superb antique set of 10 English Regency carved mahogany dining chairs with elegant shaped backs, finely carved scroll and fan detail and newly upholstered cream seats. The frames show excellent quality timber with a rich deep colour and classic Regency proportions.
The design is particularly attractive with the flowing curved back rails and central carved motifs, giving the chairs a refined decorative look while remaining practical for everyday dining. The turned front legs add strength and balance, typical of well made English Regency seating.
These chairs were originally made for formal dining rooms in grand homes where both comfort and visual impact were important. Their shape supports the sitter well while the open backs allow light to pass through, making them feel elegant rather than heavy around a table.
A very versatile set that will suit both period and modern interiors and works beautifully with a mahogany or walnut dining table.
