An antique Victorian walnut inlaid glazed pier cabinet of excellent colour and elegant proportions. Finely crafted in figured walnut and enriched with delicate marquetry inlay and decorative ormolu mounts. This is a classic mid 19th century form designed to sit between windows in reception rooms where it would display the finest household pieces while adding symmetry and refinement to the interior.
The cabinet features a single glazed door opening to shelved storage ideal for displaying silver, glass or decorative objects. The walnut has a warm rich tone with attractive figuring and refined inlaid detail across the frieze and down the uprights. The ormolu mounts frame the piece and add contrast and a subtle sense of luxury without overwhelming the clean lines.
