Description

Magnificent exhibition quality Victorian burr walnut carved breakfront display cabinet having a wonderful breakfront glazed top with beautifully finished finely carved walnut columns ending in delightfully shaped cornices. It boasts a large glazed door to the centre and two glazed doors either side which open to reveal three adjustable shelves, the sides being glazed and with a moulded edge. The base having a burr walnut top with a moulded edge, three superior burr walnut panelled doors to the centre and repeated to the sides which display truly majestic finely carved pierced oval walnut panels, these can only be described as an exquisite example of craftsmanship and design of the highest standard. It stands proudly on an elegantly shaped plinth.

This exceptional piece is in all probability a unique masterpiece and although unsigned would have undeniably been designed and crafted by one of the finest cabinet makers of the 19th Century most certainly the likes of Gillows of Lancaster & London or Lamb of Manchester.
