Wonderful solid Oak pedestal desk with hand carved details and leather top.

There are 3 generously proportioned deep drawers on each side of the desk with hand carved lion face handles and decorative filigree. The desk has many little charming details which includes scroll carved brackets to the front and rear of the desk. The sides of the desk and the back are decorated with hand carved panels so that this desk need not be pushed up against a wall, it can stand in the middle of a room. There is also decorative carved edging around the desk, the solid Oak wood is a rich golden colour.

The original, hand tooled brown leather top is marked with age & stained with ink however it is of wonderful quality. This adds to the history and grandure of the desk.

In our studio we have worked on the desk & done minimal restoration, cleaning up the wood where it had gone dark from grime and age. We have also polished and waxed the desk & the leather top. Unfortunately at some point the desk has been worked on previously and a modern lock was inserted into the top right drawer. (see photos) However the desk is stunning and I would really recommend coming to view it.

The desk is absolutely charming, a quality piece, which will stand the test of time. It's modest but adequate proportions are perfect for a home or office use.

UK - We can arrange delivery within a certain distance of our workshop and showroom for free. If further afield we can arrange a courier to deliver, or arrange delivery ourselves but there will be a cost to be agreed.
