Description

A London Silver Puritan spoon with marks for Steven Venables (1613-1683). Steven Venables was a prolific silversmith during this era and the spoon is believed to date from circa 1660.

The spoon is 17. 5 cm long with a 5 cm wide bowl. The London mark and maker's mark are quite clear but there is rubbing to the stem. It is very plain and consistent with this period.
