An exquisite Satinwood Card Table profusely inlaid with garlands, foliage and harebells in a variety of exotic woods. It is of exhibition quality with both the satinwood and inlays chosen for maximum effect.

This table was retailed by J J Allen Ltd, Bournemouth, London & Southampton (a furniture shop, removal company and funeral directors), incorporated in 1860. In 1969 they became part of The House of Fraser, and were clearly retailers of the very best furniture on the market in their day.

The card table dates to circa 1900 and stands on square tapered legs culminating in tall spade feet. One of the back legs swings out to support the table when opened and the baize lined top appears to be original. It stands 32" (81 cm) high and 36" (92 cm) when open. When closed, it stands 36" wide x 18" (46 cm) deep.
