Entitled "The First Steeple-Chase On Record" A set of 4 coloured engravings after Henry Alken published March 1st 1839 by Ben Brooks at his Eclipse Sporting Gallery, Oxford and engraved by J Harris. All four are framed and consist of

Plate 1, Ipswich, the Watering Place Behind The Barracks.
Plate II, The Large Field Near Biles's Corner
Plate III, The Last Field near Nacton Heath
Plate IV, Nacton Church and Village

Under each plate is a written graphic and fascinating commentary on how the race progresses.

The plate sizes are 16" x 14" (41 cm x 36 cm) and the sizes including the frames are 23" x 20" (59cm x 51 cm)
