19th Century English Regency Mahogany Sofa Table.

This sofa table has a quadripartite platform base with four curving cabriole legs with inlaid stringing, simulating fluting and paw form castors. The concave sides of the platform are inlaid with contrasting stringing. The platform supports the top of the table with four turned mahogany columns. The frieze of the table has two small drawers. The drawer fronts have inlaid ebony and a central ebony motif in the space between. The table top is of excellent colour and figure and has attained a fine patination. It is widely crossbanded and has contrasting stringing.
