Set of Eight 19th Century Mahogany Dining Chairs
Set of Eight Late 18th/Early 19th Century Mahogany Dining Chairs, in the Hepplewhite Manner.

Consisting of two armchairs and six side chairs, all newly upholstered to an under finish ready for the client's choice of outer fabric. The chairs are in the Hepplewhite style, featuring shield back designs which he popularised but the tapering square sectioned legs are of Sheraton inspiration. The chairs have serpentine front rails, and simple H-stretcher bases. The front legs of the chairs are panel moulded. The backs of the chairs feature fine leaf carving and three central motifs with gothic lancet carving to them. The mahogany used throughout has good colour and patination.
