Jonas Barber Mahogany Longcase numbered 628 circa 1763The 13 inch Brass dial with an 8 day movement has latched pillars and engraved 628, striking the hours on a bell. The rolling moon divisions and numerals are so finely engraved, with superb pointers.
The full Mahogany case with mirror image veneers to the trunk door.
The gadrooning and confident blind fretwork, so similar to many examples of furniture in Susan Stuarts book on Gillows
An incredibly fine example of his work, probably the finest Barber on the market at present.
